In this position you will coordinate, oversee, and/or perform a variety of accounts receivable and billing administration activities on behalf of the organization. This position is the first point of contact for invoicing and payment processing. Responsibilities
- Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
- Generate and send primary and secondary claims in insurance
- Post insurance payments and reconcile Accounts Receivable
- Manage working aging report
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies
- Support payroll processing through timesheet reconciliation and drive time calculations
- Track denied insurance claims and submit appeals
- Handle corrected claims, capturing late entries or missed visits
- Manage medical record requests and submit documents
- Resolving insurance AR balances and denials
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies and billing regulations
- Focus on denial management, reviewing denied claims, investigating reasons for denials, and taking appropriate action to secure payment
- Ensuring all claims are approved by insurance companies and payments are received
- Conduct a benefits and eligibility check on new and existing clients
- Perform eligibility and benefits calls to insurance
- Educate caregivers on how their policy handles ABA benefits and discuss patient responsibility if applicable
- Create and maintain payment plans
- Generate and send patient responsibility invoices
- Post patient responsibility payments
- Manage Patient Accounts Receivable (AR) and resolve provider inquiries
- Create and maintain customer accounts in billing system
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
- Accept feedback and be willing and able to implement new or modified policies and procedures
- Utilize effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and established protocols
- Maintain billing department voicemail and email accounts
- Work from assigned job location during standard business hours
- Attend required meetings
- Complete other projects and duties, as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred)
- 1 year of ABA billing experience (preferred)
- Experience with Texas Medicaid (preferred)
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to take feedback from supervisors and make corrective action
- Ability to work on a team
- Willing to learn and implement new skills
